Lee-Ann FournierLaw Clerk
Born and raised in the Midland and Penetanguishene area, Lee-Ann has worked in the Personal Injury Litigation field since 1992. In 1996, she began working exclusively with Steve Rastin as a Law Clerk.
Lee-Ann works on tort-side Motor Vehicle Accident files, as well as in Long-Term Disability disputes and Labour and Employment areas, and has developed specific expertise in Mediation and Trial work.
Lee-Ann is a Commissioner with the Province of Ontario, and a current member and past Chair of both the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association – Law Clerks Section and Simcoe County Brain Injury Association, and also a current member of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario and Community Living Huronia.
As a part of her memberships to both the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association – Law Clerks Section and the Simcoe County Brain Injury Association, Lee-Ann has made presentations to lawyers, law clerks and health professionals alike. Recently, she co-authored papers with Steve on topics of Bad Faith Litigation and Long-Term Disability.
Lee-Ann is a certified coach with Skate Canada and has volunteered her coaching skills with the Elmvale Figure Skating Club. In her spare time, she enjoys playing baseball, curling and boating on Georgian Bay with her husband and two children.
Karen GrantLaw Clerk
Since immigrating to Canada in 2000 Karen has primarily worked with lawyers specializing in personal injury in Hamilton prior to moving to the Midland area.
Karen is a Commissioner with the Province of Ontario and a current member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association – Law Clerks Section.
Karen is a volunteer with the Midland Sea Cadets – RCSCC Trillium, and is the Secretary for the Navy League of Ontario – Huronia Branch in Midland. In her spare time Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Nancy RastinHuman Resources Manager
Nancy graduated from the University of Western Ontario, where she received an undergraduate degree in Honours History and a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science.
Nancy is very involved in our community. She has served on several local boards including the Midland and Area Reading Council to support literacy. As well, Nancy has volunteered in various programs to tutor children and at the local Spelling Bee event. Nancy is a parent member of the Penetanguishene Secondary School Council. She participates in the local annual Terry Fox Run and other charity walks. Nancy is on the Quest Art at Home committee whose program supports visual-arts education and exhibition opportunities. Nancy is enthusiastic about walking, reading, travelling and helping people.
Jacquie BonneauLegal Assistant
Jacquie Bonneau is a Legal Assistant with over 20 years experience as an Administrative Assistant. Jacquie provides a wide range of support for our clients, lawyers, and law clerks, and keeps the office running smoothly. Jacquie is the first point of contact with the firm, and she takes that role very seriously. Each day she is motivated by the opportunity to help people, and experience new and interesting challenges.
In her spare time Jacquie is involved in local charity events like the Walk for MS. Jacquie is also an artist. She enjoys cooking, and spending time with her two children.
Sandra CampbellLaw Clerk
Sandra is a senior litigation law clerk and has over 30 years of experience exclusively in the field of Plaintiff personal injury litigation. She is a licensed paralegal having successfully completed the LSO Paralegal Examination in March of 2008. Sandra has expertise in working on tort-side Motor Vehicle Accident files, Accident Benefits, as well as in Long- Term Disability disputes. Sandra enjoys pursuing continued education programs with the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Law Society of Ontario, the Medico-Legal Society and Canada Pension.
Sandra has developed specific expertise in Mediation and Trial work. She is a Commissioner with the Province of Ontario, and a current member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. Cheryl BerthiaumeLaw Clerk
Cheryl is a junior law clerk who recently graduated from the Georgian College Law clerk program. Cheryl is dedicated and hard working. She worked part time at a Barrie plaintiff law firm for a year while completing her law clerk course. She graduated on the Dean's List and she was awarded the Anderson Adams Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership upon graduation. She is a member of OTLA - Law clerks section.
Cheryl has lived in Barrie since 2005. She enjoys swimming with her two young sons and spending time at the family cottage on Georgian Bay. Cheryl volunteers in her community and she is especially interested in supporting children's charities such as Sick Kids and Ronald McDonald House. Cheryl has also volunteered in programs to assist the homeless.
Ruth HackneyAccounting Administrator
Ruth is the firm's Accounting Administrator, She has worked with Rastin & Associates since 1996. She has a great deal of experience running small businesses, and is currently responsible for the accounting department, including filing reports required by the Law Society of Ontario.
Ruth has been a resident of Midland for the past 40 years. Ruth was a member of Midland Town Council for 10 years, including holding the position of Deputy Mayor. She currently sits as Chairperson for the Committee of Adjustments for the Town of Midland. Additionally, she sat on the Board of Directors of the Midland Public Utility Corporation for 15 years, and for 9 of those years, as Chairperson.
Cassandra RastinOffice Coordinator
Cassandra has worked as a summer student for Rastin & Associates since 2011. In June 2014 she began working for the firm full time as the office coordinator. She also offers onsite technical support to our paperless office, as required. Cassandra recently graduated from University of Western Ontario with an Honors Specialization in Genetics and a Minor in Refugee and Migrant Studies. She brings a diverse educational and work background in the Health and Social Sciences to Rastin & Associates.
In her spare time Cassandra is an avid volunteer. Currently, she works with the Patient’s in Motion program at the Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland and at the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre in Penetanguishene. In the past she has volunteered with SARI Therapeutic Horseback Riding, St. Joseph’s Hospital and The Boys and Girls Club of London. Cassandra recently returned from a Rayjon Share Care/Georgian College Medical Relief trip to San Jose de Ocoa in the Dominican Republic.
Lacey TaboneLaw Clerk
Lacey is a law clerk who graduated from the Centennial College Law clerk program. Lacey worked at a prominent Toronto law firm in both insurance defence and plaintiff personal injury prior to joining Rastin & Associates. She is a member of OTLA - Law clerks section. Lacey works on the firms corporate files as well as employment, Ministry of Labour and Human Rights Tribunal matters.
Lacey was born and raised in the Simcoe County area. She is an annual participant of CIBC’s Run for the Cure. In her free time she enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
